EMPHASIS: Drug Seizure, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D.

Today, November 30, 2009, a trooper stopped an eastbound 1997 Chevrolet utility truck for exceeding the speed limit and a registration violation on Interstate 44 at the 83-mile marker, in Greene County. After speaking with the driver and suspecting criminal activity the trooper asked and received consent to search the vehicle. An area under the truck bed was inaccessible, but a canine sniff yielded an indication of drugs. The search revealed approximately 36 pounds of marijuana concealed in duffel bags and totes.

The driver, Arnoldo Salvidar, 34, of Houston, TX, was arrested for felony possession of marijuana.

The charge for which the above person was arrested is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of this charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
