EMPHASIS: Results For "Click It Or Ticket" Campaign In Ste. Genevieve County



Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the result of "Click It Or Ticket" campaign was conducted on March 15, 2013, in Ste. Genevieve County. The primary goal was to reduce the number of injury and fatal traffic crashes through the aggressive enforcement of traffic laws, including a zero tolerance policy regarding seat belt compliance and the utilization of child restraint systems. During the four-hour operation, three officers stopped 18 vehicles and issued 19 summonses.

Speed -- 7 summonses
Seat Belt -- 4 summonses
Careless & Imprudent -- 1 summons
Uninsured Motorists -- 1 summons
Driver's License/Suspended/Revoked -- 2 summonses
Nonmoving Traffic Violations -- 1 summons
Misdemeanor Criminal Offence -- 1 arrest
Misdemeanor Warrant -- 1 arrest
Felony Warrant -- 1 arrest

Local motorists should be prepared for stepped up Click It Or Ticket enforcement,” said Captain Johnson. “We’ll be out there to remind you seat belts can – and do – save lives.”

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint, and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
