EMPHASIS: Patrol To Conduct DWI Saturations -- Lake Of The Ozarks Area

Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces that DWI saturations will be held in the Lake of the Ozarks area sometime in the month of July. The Lake of the Ozarks area within Troop F includes Camden, Miller, and Morgan counties.

DWI saturations are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove careless and impaired drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted in areas which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts, hazardous driving contacts, and traffic crashes.

“The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in our state and troopers are dedicated to removing them from Missouri roadways," stated Captain Turner. “Anytime your plans include alcohol, please have a sober designated driver.”

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
