EMPHASIS: Patrol Invites Media To Press Conference

Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, invites the media to a press conference at 4 p.m. on January 11, 2008, at St. Johns Emergency Medical Services Headquarters, 1407 E. St. Louis, in Springfield, MO. The purpose of this press conference is to share information regarding the decrease in fatal traffic crashes in Missouri for 2007. Mr. Pete Rahn, Missouri Department of Transportation, and Mr. Omar Davis, Missouri Department of Revenue, and Pam Holt, St. John’s Trauma Prevention Education Coordinator, will also speak at the press conference. The Patrol, MoDOT, DOR and St. John’s are part of the Missouri Coalition For Roadway Safety.

“The Patrol set a goal of less than 1,000 traffic deaths in 2008,” said Colonel Keathley. “I am pleased to inform the public this goal has been met a year early. The Patrol will continue to work with its traffic safety partners to continue to reduce the number of traffic fatalities in our state.”

Members of the media are invited to attend this press conference. Information about enforcement and educational activities will be made available.
