EMPHASIS: Results Of "Click It Or Ticket" Enforcement Campaign Conducted In Troop B


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a recent "Click It Or Ticket" enforcement campaign.
On Friday, February 20, 2015, Troop B officers joined law enforcement agencies throughout Missouri in the Missouri Department of Transportation's Division of Highway Safety "Click It or Ticket" mobilization. The primary goal of the operation is to reduce the number of injury and fatal traffic crashes through aggressive enforcement of traffic laws. As a result of the operation, Troop B officers made three arrests, issued 68 traffic citations, and 132 warnings. The following is a list of the enforcement contacts made during the enforcement campaign:

2 -- Arrests for driving while intoxicated.
1 -- Arrest for a misdemeanor warrant.
36-- Citations were issued for exceeding the speed limit.
1 -- Citation was issued for careless and imprudent driving.
13-- Citations were issued for seat belt violations.
1 -- Citation was issued for following too close.
3 -- Citations were issued for hazardous moving violations.
5 -- Citations were issued for non-moving violations.
3 -- Citations were issued for driver's license violations.
6 -- Citations were issued for insurance violations.

"There is no doubt wearing seat belts save lives," stated Captain Wilt. "Please wear your seat belt and utilize child restraint seats when transporting children."

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
