EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Promotion Of Sergeant Jeffrey B. Johnson


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces effective October 1, 2014, Sergeant Jeffrey B. Johnson was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and remains assigned to Troop D.

Johnson was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1993, as a member of the 65th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 7, serving Newton and McDonald Counties. In 1998, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor, remaining in Zone 7. In 2003, Johnson was promoted to sergeant, serving as the zone supervisor for Zone 14, Barry County. In 2007, Johnson transferred to Zone 18, and was designated the zone supervisor of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Team (C.V.E.T), and held this position until his promotion to lieutenant.

A native of Savannah, Missouri, Lieutenant Johnson graduated from Savannah High School in 1989. Following high school, he attended Kansas State University and Missouri State University. Johnson graduated from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy with an associate's degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College. Lieutenant Johnson and his wife, Tina (Ury), are the proud parents of two grown children: Nick and Megan. He is the son of Sam and Sharon Johnson, of Edmond, Oklahoma.
