EMPHASIS: Captain Robert Powell Announces Promotions

Captain Robert Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the following promotions.
Corporal Christopher M. Clair has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 10, which serves the public in Saline County. Sergeant Clair was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1999, as a member of the 76th Recruit Class. When he graduated from the academy, Clair was assigned to Saline County. In 2007, Clair was promoted to corporal and he transferred to Benton County, where he was designated assistant zone supervisor. Clair is a native of Kirksville, Missouri, and graduated from Knox County High School in Edina, Missouri. After high school he attended Truman State University, where he obtained a bachelor's of science degree in justice systems in 1993. Sergeant Clair is married to Penny (Bland), of Savannah, Georgia. The couple has three children: Angelica, Aliah, and Christian.
Trooper Benjamin N. Comer has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 16, which serves the public in Benton County. Corporal Comer was appointed to Patrol on October 20, 2002, as a member of the 80th Recruit Class. Comer is a native of Fort Knox, Kentucky, and graduated from Oak Park High School in North Kansas City, Missouri. After high school, he attended the University of Central Missouri and Park University. Comer graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's of arts degree in criminal justice administration from Park University. Corporal Comer is married to Kimberly (McKenzie), of Kansas City, Missouri. The couple has three children: Aidan, Gracie, and Isaac.
Trooper Joel E. Givens has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 11, which serves the public in Cass County. Corporal Givens was appointed to the Patrol on January 8, 2006, as a member of the 85th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, St. Louis, serving St. Louis and Jefferson counties. In 2010, Givens transferred to Troop A, Zone 3, Clay County. Givens is a native of Jefferson City, Missouri, and graduated from Jefferson City High School. After high school, he attended Northwest Missouri State University where he graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in psychology and sociology. Corporal Givens is married to Keri (Fairchild), of Jefferson City, Missouri.
