EMPHASIS: DWI Checkpoints In Pettis And Clay Counties
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces that members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in Pettis County. Also, in a joint effort with the Kansas City Police Department, a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted in Clay County. Both sobriety checkpoints will be held sometime during the month of July.
The checkpoints are a continuing effort by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies to remove intoxicated drivers from our roadways. The checkpoints will consist of officers stopping vehicles at a set location and testing those drivers who have been drinking.
Captain Powell stated, “Please do not let your life or someone else’s life be ruined by an alcohol-related crash or arrest.”
