EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop On I-70 Results In Drug Arrest

On December 14, 2007, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a Mercury Grand Marquis on eastbound Interstate 70 near Missouri Highway 127 in Saline County for expired license plates. Consent to search the vehicle was obtained and approximately 4.6 ounces of marijuana was located in the trunk of the vehicle.
The driver, Jason M. Gann, 21, of Grandview, Missouri, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and transported to the Saline County Jail.
The charge for which Jason M. Gann was arrested is a mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
