EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In St. Louis County


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Saturday evening, December 10, 2011, on Missouri Highway 364, west of River Valley Drive, in Maryland Heights, MO. During the five-hour operation, 267 vehicles were checked with a total of 26 arrests being made. Of those, six subjects were arrested for DWI, two summonses were written for driver license violations, one summons was written for a speed violation, two summonses were written for seat belt violations, and six summonses were written for other moving and non-moving violations. In addition, six subjects were arrested on active misdemeanor warrants, one subject was arrested for littering, and two subjects were arrested on drug violations.

Captain Johnson says, “Intoxicated drivers compromise the safety of themselves and of every person who travels the highways in St. Louis County. We will continue to do everything we can to remove these hazardous drivers from our highways.”
