EMPHASIS: Sullivan County Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

On January 24, 2014, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Kirksville Police Department executed a search warrant on a suspicious package addressed to a Sullivan County resident. The package was found to contain slightly less than one pound of crystal methamphetamine. On January 24, 2014, while continuing the investigation, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department obtained and executed a search warrant at 24300 Missouri Highway 5, Apartment 8, in Milan, Missouri, where methamphetamine, a synthetic cannabinoid product, and other controlled substances were located. As a result of the investigation the following individuals were arrested:
Armondo Romo III, 22, of Milan, Missouri, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
Oscar Torres Marquina, 22, of Milan, Missouri, was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Leonard A. Vega, 59, of Milan, Missouri, was arrested for felony conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
All three subjects are being held by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department on a $75,000 bond.
The charges for which the above individuals were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
