EMPHASIS:
July Enforcement Operation Scheduled For Troop A
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces a DWI checkpoint will be conducted in the Troop A area during the month of July.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, along with the Kansas City [MO] Police Department, will conduct a DWI checkpoint in Platte County between now and the end of July. This operation is an effort by both law enforcement agencies to remove impaired drivers from Missouri’s highways. The checkpoint will consist of officers stopping drivers at a set location and testing those who have been drinking.
“Our goal is to make traveling on Missouri’s highways safer for everyone,” stated Captain Shipers. “The Missouri State Highway Patrol has zero tolerance for those operating a motor vehicle or marine vessel while impaired by alcohol or drugs.” The public can contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol toll-free at 1-800-525-5555, or *55 on a cellular phone, to report any driver who is operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
