EMPHASIS: Patrol’s 86th Recruit Class At Academy

Forty-eight people reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy on Monday, January 8, 2007, to begin the 27-week training course to become a trooper. The 86th Recruit Class is scheduled to graduate on July 13, 2007. As of March 1, 2007, 37 recruits remain in the class. The average age of the members of the 86th Recruit Class is 24.59 years. Of the recruits, 13 have some college experience, one has an associate’s degree, five have more than 60 hours of college credit, 14 have bachelor’s degrees, and one has a master’s degree. Nine of the recruits have worked in law enforcement and six have prior military experience.
