EMPHASIS: Missouri State Highway Patrol Reaccredited

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) reaccredited the Missouri State Highway Patrol at its fall conference banquet in Reno, Nevada, on Saturday evening, November 18. This marks the fourth time the Patrol has successfully been reviewed and approved for reaccredidation. The Patrol has maintained its accredited status since 1992, when it became the 11th state law enforcement agency to become accredited.

“Being recognized as an agency that embraces internationally accepted standards for the delivery of high quality law enforcement services is an important distinction for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. We look forward to our continued affiliation with CALEA,” said Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Patrol.

CALEA also recognized the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a Flagship Agency during the conference. The Flagship Agency Recognition Program was introduced by CALEA in 2004 to acknowledge the achievement and expertise of some of the most successful CALEA accredited public safety agencies, and also to provide “flagship examples” to assist other agencies.

Approximately 1,000 representatives from law enforcement and other public safety agencies throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda attended the conference.
