EMPHASIS: February 1 Promotion



Colonel James F. Keathley announces the following promotion effective February 1, 2007:



Lieutenant Matthew B. “Barry” Lindsey is being promoted to the rank of captain and designated director of the Training Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City.



Lindsey was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1980, as a member of the 51st Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 11, Warsaw, MO. In December 1987, he transferred to the Governor’s Security Division. He transferred to the Training Division as an instructor in may 1990. While serving in that capacity, Lindsey earned the rank of corporal (1990) and sergeant (1992). In 1995, he transferred to the Governor’s Security Division. He was designated director of the Governor’s Security in 1997. In 1998, Lindsey was promoted to lieutenant. In March 2000, he transferred to the Training Division and was designated assistant director.



Capt. Lindsey was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Jenks Senior High School in Jenks, Oklahoma, in 1972. In 1984, he earned an associate’s of arts degree from State Fair Community College, Sedalia, MO. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice, in 1986, and a master’s of arts in sociology/criminal justice in 1990, both from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO. Capt. Lindsey and his wife, Marilyn, have three children: Matthew Jr., Adam, and Zachary.
