EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop E Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations Conducted in Troop E Area During The Month of July



Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, announces the results of Selective Traffic Enforcement Operations conducted in the Troop E area during the month of July. The goal of these additional enforcement operations is to detect criminal activity taking place on our highways.

On July 13, 2007, four troopers focused their attention on Interstate 55 in New Madrid County. During the eight-hour operation, officers made 17 arrests and issued 28 warnings. Of those arrests, one person was arrested for driving while intoxicated, two misdemeanor drug arrests, two other misdemeanor arrests, four felony drug arrests, one other felony arrest, and two felony warrant arrests. Officer’s issued one summons for failed to yield right of way, two summonses for no driver’s license, and two summonses for commercial vehicle violations.

On July 14, 2007, four troopers again focused their attention on Interstate 55 in New Madrid County. During the eight-hour operation, officers made 22 arrests and issued 34 warnings. Of those arrests, one person received a summons for speeding, and eight summonses were issued for no driver’s license. Officers made five misdemeanor arrests for possession of drugs and two other misdemeanor arrests. Officers made one felony driving while intoxicated arrest, four felony drug arrests, and one felony warrant arrest.
