EMPHASIS: May Enforcement Projects Scheduled For Troop E

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces from May 18 through May 31, troopers will conduct “Click It Or Ticket” enforcement operations in Cape Girardeau, Pemiscot, and Stoddard counties. During the Memorial Day weekend, Troop E officers will once again be participating in special enforcement operations with the objective of reducing the number and severity of traffic crashes. Throughout the holiday weekend, troopers within Troop E and throughout the state will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort). In conjunction with Operation C.A.R.E., Troop E will also be participating in the statewide 20-Mile Trooper project during the peak travel periods on Friday, May 22, and Monday, May 25. During this operation, troopers will be assigned to 20-mile stretches of Interstate 55 and other designated roadways. Troopers will be tasked with vigorously enforcing all traffic laws and helping motorists in need of assistance.

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
