EMPHASIS: Newton County Resident Arrested For Receiving Stolen Property

On Sunday evening, November 13, 2005, the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed a search warrant for the Carl Nathan Mitchell property in northwest Newton County. As a result, numerous stolen items were recovered from the home and adjacent outbuildings. Items recovered included: ATVs, motorcycles, household furniture and appliances, construction equipment, clothing, and jewelry. The estimated value of the recovered property is $25,000. Ladonna M. Mitchell, 25, was arrested for receiving stolen property. A warrant will be issued for Carl Nathan Mitchell, who was not home when the warrant was executed. The Newton County Sheriff’s Department and Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control assisted Troop D officers.

The charges for which Ladonna M. Mitchell has been arrested are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
