On December 31, 2004, after fifteen years of dedicated service, Motor Vehicle Inspector Supervisor Robert (Bob) A. Brasch retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Bob began his career with the Patrol on September 1, 1989, as a motor vehicle inspector and was assigned to the Troop D Satellite office in Carthage, where he remained his entire length of service. In January 1990, he was promoted to inspector II, and then in July 1994, he was promoted to inspector III. He was promoted to supervisor in July 1997, the position he held until retirement. Bob’s duties included overseeing Missouri State Inspection Stations, testing inspector mechanics, inspecting rebuilt vehicles, and was extremely active in the yearly inspection of area school buses.

Bob was born in Joplin, Mo., and graduated from Joplin High School in 1960. He served in the Missouri National Guard for six years, from 1963 through 1969. Prior to working for the Highway Patrol, Bob was employed at the W. R. Grace Company in Joplin for twenty years.

Bob and his wife, Linda, have two children, Deanna Anderson and Kevin Brasch, and one granddaughter, Laura.
