EMPHASIS: Drug Investigation

Captain Luke Vislay, director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the results of a joint undercover narcotics investigation in Dallas County.

Members of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG), Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on a residence at 233 Raintree Road in Buffalo, Missouri, on March 2, 2008. During this search, officers seized an active clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a possible homemade bomb. Officers arrested Carl S. Staedler, 52, and Jonathan L. Rogde, 20, both of Buffalo, Missouri, for manufacturing methamphetamine.

The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. Its members include the sheriff departments of Camden, Gasconade, Maries, Crawford, Pulaski, Laclede, and Dallas counties, as well as the Lebanon and Osage Beach police departments. LANEG is governed by a board of directors and is coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
