EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Open House For 75th Anniversary







Captain G.E. Ridens, Commanding Officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, would like to invite the public to attend an open house at Troop E Headquarters, 4947 U.S. 67 North, Poplar Bluff, celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Saturday, September 30, 2006. Troop E was one of the original troops created by Governor Caulfield in 1931.



Troop E will open its doors to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Several displays and demonstrations are scheduled to showcase the Patrol. These include a 1959 Dodge patrol car, a helicopter, canine demonstrations, roll-over simulator, seat belt convincer, and many other vehicles and displays from the Patrol’s different divisions. McGruff the crime dog will also be present.



Refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Patrol, and parking is provided. There will be anniversary items available for purchase by the public.



Captain Ridens stated, “I would like to thank the public for their support over the last 75 years, and we look forward to continued service to southeast Missouri. Please stop in at Troop E and help us celebrate.”
