EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Labor Day Holiday & 20-Mile Trooper Enforcement Totals


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announces the Labor Day holiday and 20-Mile Trooper project enforcement totals for the Troop E area, which consists of 13 counties in Southeast Missouri. During the counting period, Troop E officers investigated 21 traffic crashes, which resulted in three injuries and zero fatalities. Troop E officers working on Interstate 55 participated in the 20-Mile Trooper project. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Southeast Missouri on Friday August 31, 2012, and Monday September 3, 2012. Totals from this operation include:

9 -- Driver’s License Summonses
27 -- Non-Moving Summonses
9 -- Uninsured Motorist Summonses
6 -- Hazardous Moving Summonses

Captain Ridens said, "We will continue to enforce traffic laws to help make our highways as safe as possible for all travelers. Please remember we need your help--pay attention, obey all traffic laws, make sure everyone is buckled up, and if you drink, don't drive."
