EMPHASIS: Colonel Ron Replogle Announces Retirement Of Capt. Robert P. Stieffermann

Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the retirement of Captain Robert P. Stieffermann, director of the Professional Standards Division, General Headquarters, after more than 36 years of dedicated service. Capt. Stieffermann’s retirement is effective June 1, 2011.

Stieffermann began his career with the Patrol on January 1, 1975, as a member of the 44th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was first assigned to Troop E, Zone 2, Iron/Madison/Wayne counties. From 1980-1988 for part of each year, Stieffermann was assigned temporarily to the Patrol’s Criminal Investigative Division to work in marijuana eradication. In 1986, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 7, Scott/Mississippi/New Madrid counties. Stieffermann transferred to the Division of Drug and Crime Control, General Headquarters, and was assigned to the Troop E DDCC Narcotics Unit on December 1, 1988. He transferred within DDCC from Troop E unit to General Headquarters on February 1, 1990. Stieffermann was promoted to sergeant on August 1, 1990 and lieutenant on October 1, 2001. As a lieutenant, he transferred to the Research and Development Division as assistant director. On August 1, 2005, he was promoted to captain and named director of the Professional Standards Division, the position from which he retires.

Stieffermann was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Union Public High School in Union, MO, in 1970. Capt. Stieffermann and his wife, Debra, have one grown son. They reside in Jefferson City, MO.
