EMPHASIS: August 21 Promotion



Colonel Roger D. Stottlemyre, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotion effective August 21, 2005:



Sergeant Richard G. Fredendall will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned to the Research and Development Division as assistant director.



Lieutenant Fredendall is a 19-year veteran of the Patrol. After graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy in 1987, he was assigned initially to Troop B, Zone 4, Unionville. In 1989, Fredendall transferred to Troop I, Zone 2, Rolla. He earned the rank of corporal in 1992, and was designated assistant zone commander of Zone 1, Phelps County. In 1996, he was promoted to sergeant, and designated zone commander of Zone 5, Laclede County. In 2000, Fredendall served as an intern in the Field Operations Bureau at General Headquarters in Jefferson City. In August 2003, he became zone commander of Zone 8, Laclede County.



Lieutenant Fredendall was born in Rolla, MO. He graduated from Maries County R-II High School in Belle, MO, in 1980. He attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. Lieutenant Fredendall and his wife, Angela (Dalton), have three children: Jacquelyn, Leslie, and Kellie.
