EMPHASIS:
Troop B To Conduct Enforcement Operations During The Month Of May
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces during the month of May 2018, troopers will be participating in special enforcement operations. Sometime during the month of April, DWI saturations will occur in Clark, Chariton, Scotland, and Randolph counties. Sometime during the month of April, a Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation will be held in Adair, Macon, and Randolph counties. The goal of these operations is to detect hazardous moving violations, speed limit violations, and other violations that are contributing factors to traffic crashes.
"Special enforcement operations such as these enable the Missouri State Highway Patrol to enhance our efforts in reducing the number and severity of traffic crashes in Missouri," stated Captain Wilt. "Driving while impaired continues to be a major contributing factor of fatal traffic crashes in Missouri."
Captain Wilt urges all citizens to help law enforcement efforts to apprehend impaired drivers. If you suspect a motorist of driving while impaired or observe a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner, contact the nearest law enforcement agency. The Highway Patrol toll-free numbers for reporting emergencies are 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is wearing a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and driver sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
