EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop E Hazardous Moving Violations Saturations

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, announces the results of five Hazardous Moving Violations Saturations conducted in Troop E during the month of May. During the operation troopers were assigned to patrol highways that, historically, have experienced a higher number of traffic crashes and hazardous moving violations.
Troopers made 5 arrests: one arrest for driving while intoxicated, two other misdemeanor criminal arrests, and two misdemeanor warrant arrests. Traffic citations issued by officers included the following summonses: 71 for speeding, 40 for seat belt violations, six for no child restraint, six for no driver’s license, four for no insurance, and eight nonmoving violations. Troopers also issued 238 warnings for various other traffic violations during the operation.
Captain Ridens stated, “The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in southeast Missouri. DWI and hazardous driving saturations are a part of the Patrol’s effort to remove intoxicated and dangerous drivers from Missouri roadways. The troopers in the Troop E area will continue to pursue this goal.”
