EMPHASIS: Missouri State Highway Patrol Hosts Passenger Vehicle Inspection Course

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is offering a Passenger Vehicle Inspection Course at its Law Enforcement Academy from September 10 through 13, 2007. The course is designed to teach both driver and vehicle inspection topics that are specific to passenger-carrying motorcoaches. The Motor Carrier Services Division of the Missouri Department of Transportation is providing the instructor for the course. Students attending this course will learn about the steering, brakes, exhaust, and frame components of these vehicles, interior items such as seats and emergency exits, and driver service hour limitations. Students attending this Passenger Vehicle Inspection Course include eight commercial vehicle enforcement troopers, nine commercial vehicle officers, two Kansas City Police Department commercial vehicle officers, and three representatives from the Motor Carrier Services Division of the Missouri Department of Transportation.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol invites members of the media to attend the mock inspection sessions scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, September 11, 2007, and all day Wednesday, September 12, 2007. This part of the training will take place at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, 1510 East Elm, Jefferson City, MO.
