EMPHASIS: DDCC Officer of the Year

Captain Ronald K. Replogle, Director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), is pleased to announce Sergeant Miles Parks was named the Division’s 2004 Officer of the Year. Miles has been a dedicated member of the division since its inception on October 1, 1983. He has served the Missouri State Highway Patrol with distinction for 36 years and was appointed on June 1, 1968. Parks is assigned to the Troop D Service Center in Carthage, Missouri, as a criminal investigator.

In 2004, Sergeant Parks was assigned several difficult investigations, which he preformed with the utmost professionalism. Parks conducted a special investigation into the theft of city funds in a Southwest, Missouri, town. The investigation revealed the police chief was responsible for the theft of those funds. Parks led an investigation in which he conducted the surveillance of a major burglary ring in the Carthage area. During this investigation, he recovered several stolen ATV’s and thousands of dollars in stolen property. Sergeant Parks was also involved in the recovery of nearly $250,000 worth of stolen construction equipment from a subject in Southwest Missouri.

Sergeant Parks is an asset to Missouri State Highway Patrol; he is an excellent example for other officers and is consulted frequently by other law enforcement agencies for his investigative savvy, knowledge and expertise.
