EMPHASIS: Colonel Ron Replogle Announces The Retirement Of Major Robert E. Bloomberg

Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the retirement of Major Robert E. Bloomberg effective September 1, 2012.

Major Bloomberg is a 33-year veteran of the Patrol. After graduation from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in 1979, he was initially assigned to Troop A, Zone 9, Cass County. In 1989, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 16, Johnson County. Bloomberg was promoted to sergeant and assigned zone commander of that same zone in 1990. He transferred to the Professional Standards Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, in 1995. Bloomberg was promoted to lieutenant in 1996, remaining in the Professional Standards Division. He was named director of the same division in 1997; and promoted to captain in 1998. In 2000, he transferred to the Gaming Division as the director. In 2006, Bloomberg was promoted to major and designated commander of the Technical Services Bureau. It is from this position that he retires.

Major Bloomberg was born in Harreshausen, Germany. He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Iowa, in 1972. He earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in criminal justice from Columbia College in 1999. In 2002, Bloomberg earned a master’s of science degree in criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University. Major Bloomberg and his wife, Suzan, have one daughter, Katy. They reside in Jefferson City.
