EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop On Mo. Route U Results In Drug Arrest

On May 12, 2007, at approximately 11:58 a.m. a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a 1997 GMC Sierra Pickup truck traveling west on Route U in Stoddard County while conducting a spot check of vehicles for license and equipment violations.
The driver, Grady R. Christian, 27, of Malden, Missouri, was stopped at a vehicle spot check. As the trooper spoke to the driver he admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. A subsequent search incident to an arrest revealed marijuana in a duffle bag in the extended cab of the truck. Grady R. Christian was arrested for possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and taken to the Stoddard County Jail.
The charges for which Grady R. Christian was arrested for are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
