EMPHASIS: Patrol’s 88th Recruit Class At Academy

Thirty-eight people reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, to begin the 25-week training course to become a trooper. The 88th Recruit Class is scheduled to graduate on December 19, 2008. As of August 27, 2008, 27 recruits remain in the class. The average age of the members of the 88th Recruit Class is 28.44 years. Of the recruits, six have some college experience, two have an associate’s degree, four have more than 60 hours of college credit, 11 have bachelor’s degrees, one has a master’s degree, and one is working on a master’s degree. Four of the recruits have worked in law enforcement and six have prior military experience.
