EMPHASIS: Highway Patrol Schedules Criminal History Background Check Symposiums

Colonel James F. Keathley, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, would like to make the public aware of two criminal history symposiums scheduled for September 9 and 16, 2008. These symposiums are in response to the growing interest and desire to obtain criminal history record information for individuals applying for positions of trust with children, elderly, or persons with disabilities, and are open to the public. The symposiums are designed to educate and assist schools, agencies, and organizations (public or private, profit or nonprofit on the methods of obtaining criminal history background checks in the state of Missouri as well as nationally through the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

The September 9, 2008, symposium will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, 2720 North Glenstone Ave, Springfield, MO 65803. The September 16, 2008, symposium will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Drury Lodge, 104 South Vantage Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

Registration fee is $20 per person, payable in advance. Payment of fee(s) should be in the form of check or money order made payable to: “MISSOURI STATE TROOPERS ASSOCIATION”.
