EMPHASIS: Troop H Retirement





Captain Johnnie B. Hoggatt, Commanding Officer of Troop H in St. Joseph announces the retirement of Chief Commercial Vehicle Officer Paul B. Heintz.

Chief Commercial Vehicle Officer Paul B. Heintz retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol on April 1, 2005, with 32 years and 10 months of service.



Paul began his career on June 1, 1972, at Post H-3, St. Joseph, after a seven-month training period. Upon completion of his training, he was transferred to the newly constructed scale house on Interstate 35 in Eagleville, MO. Paul was promoted to Inspector II on January 1, 1973. On January 1, 1976, Paul was transferred to H-1 in Savannah, MO. He was promoted again to Inspector III on June 1, 1977. On October 1, 1988, Paul was promoted to Inspector Supervisor. He remained at Post H-1 until June 1, 1982, when he was assigned to the portable scale van # 1125. He worked as a member of the portable unit for over 15 years, until his promotion to Troop H Chief Commercial Vehicle Officer on September 1, 1997. Paul was a graduate of the first Commercial Vehicle Officer School in August 1995.



Paul is a 1969 graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph. He is married to the former Mary Nichols of Maryville, MO. They have two children and five grandchildren.
