EMPHASIS:
Ripley County Fugitive Taken Into Custody
At approximately 4 p.m., March 18, 2017, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Heath B. Miller, 25, of Rector, Arkansas. The arrest comes after an extensive manhunt in Ripley and portions of Carter counties. Miller had multiple warrants for his arrest. Miller is charged in Dunklin and Ripley counties with 1st degree rape, 1st degree kidnapping, 1st degree assault, and armed criminal action.
Troopers were alerted that Miller had forced his way into a home in the Grandin, Missouri, area and Miller was taken into custody without incident.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted in the search by the Ripley County and Carter County sheriffs' offices, Missouri Department of Conservation, United States Forest Service, and the Missouri Department of Corrections.
The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
