EMPHASIS: Traffic Stop On Interstate-55 Results In Drug Arrest

On May 24, 2008, at approximately 3:08 a.m. a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix traveling south on Interstate 55 in Scott County for a speeding violation.
Miles Q. Heard, 28, of Columbia, Missouri, was the driver of the vehicle stopped for a speeding violation. Due to indicating factors, a probable cause search was conducted. During the search two ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, and a stolen Glock 22 was located. Miles Q. Heard was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, receiving stolen property, and was taken to the Scott County Jail.
The charges for which Mile Q. Heard were arrested are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
