Troop F Announces Results Of DWI Sobriety Checkpoint In Camden County
Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces the results of a DWI sobriety checkpoint conducted in Camden County. The checkpoint was conducted from 11 p.m. on July 9, 2016, to 3 a.m. on July 10, 2016, on Missouri Highway 5 at Harvest Road in Camden County, and involved the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Camden County Sheriff’s Department.
Statewide Traffic Accident Reporting Statistics indicate at least 57 alcohol-related traffic crashes occurred in Camden County in calendar year 2015, resulting in three fatalities and 31 injuries. A total of 300 vehicles were checked during this operation. Officers made the following enforcement contacts:
3 -- Misdemeanor DWI arrests
2 -- Misdemeanor drug arrests
2 -- Misdemeanor warrant arrests
3 -- Driving while suspended/revoked arrests
4 -- Non-moving violation summons
35 -- Warnings issued
“One of our goals is to make traveling on Missouri’s highways safer for everyone,” stated Captain Turner. “DWI checkpoints are one tool we use to meet that goal. Please be careful when behind the wheel and never drink and drive.”
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
