EMPHASIS: Captain Luke Vislay Promoted To Major


Colonel Ron K. Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces that effective March 1, 2010, Captain Luke Vislay is being promoted to the rank of major and designated commander of the Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Major Vislay was appointed to the Patrol on August 3, 1986. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, his first assignment was to Troop F, Zone 9, Hermann, MO. In 1987, Vislay transferred from Troop F to the Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), General Headquarters. In 1991, he returned to Troop F, Zone 9. He was promoted to corporal in 1993, and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 2, Cole/Callaway counties. He was promoted to sergeant in 1996, and designated zone commander of Osage and Gasconade counties. After completing an internship in 1997, Vislay transferred to DDCC, General Headquarters, as a criminal investigator. He was promoted to lieutenant in August 2002, and designated assistant director of DDCC. On September 1, 2006, Vislay was promoted to the rank of captain and designated director of DDCC.

Major Vislay was born in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Penn Hills High School in Penn Hills, PA, in 1980. He attended the Community College of Allegheny County from 1980-1982. Major Vislay and his wife, Gretchen (Loebach), have one son, Jacob, who is a junior at Westminster College in Fulton, MO.
