EMPHASIS: Former Bonne Terre City Clerk charged with felony stealing and forgery.

Captain Ronald K. Replogle, Director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), announces the former City Clerk of Bonne Terre, Missouri, was charged on February 1, 2005, for Felony Stealing and Forgery, stemming from a criminal investigation that began in August of 2004.

Donna S. Jennings age 59, of Farmington, Missouri, turned herself into authorities yesterday after being charged for stealing more than $2,000.00 and forging city court documents, while she was employed as the City Clerk. At the request of the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, an investigation was initiated after Jennings’ predecessor noticed discrepancies in the city’s records. Jennings was released after posting a $15,000.00 bond.

The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
