EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop E


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the assignment of four new troopers to Southeast Missouri. The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 94th Recruit Class, which graduated from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy on December 16, 2011. The new troopers will report for duty on January 3, 2012.

Trooper Blaine M. Loring, a native of West Plains, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 1, which serves the citizens of Ripley and Butler counties. Trooper Loring graduated from West Plains High School and holds an associate’s of arts degree in general studies from Missouri State University-West Plains. Trooper Loring’s field training officer will be Trooper Shane Talburt.

Trooper Cameron M. Heath, a native of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 7, which serves the citizens of Scott, Mississippi, and New Madrid counties. Trooper Heath graduated from Jackson High School and holds a bachelor’s of science degree in education from Belmont University, in Nashville, Tennessee. Trooper Heath’s field training officer will be Trooper Dewey Heppe.

Trooper Dylan L. DeJournett, a native of Essex, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 8, which serves the citizens of New Madrid and Pemiscot counties. Trooper DeJournett graduated from Richland High School in Essex, Missouri, and holds an associate’s of arts degree in criminal justice from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Trooper DeJournet’s field training officer will be Trooper Brooks Pratt.

Trooper Joseph M. Van Meter, a native of Bloomington, Indiana, has been assigned to Zone 8, which serves the citizens of New Madrid and Pemiscot counties. Trooper Van Meter previously served in the United States Army and was a trooper in the state of Wyoming. Trooper Van Meter’s field training officer will be Corporal Jason Crites.
