EMPHASIS: Last of the victims identified in fatality accident on Interstate 70 in Boone County





Missouri State Highway Patrol officers and United States Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents with the assistance of the University of Missouri Medical Center, the Medical Examiners Office in Columbia, Missouri, consulates from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico, along with numerous family members have identified all of the victims from the fatality accident from Interstate 70 in Boone County on June 19, 2005. The identity of the final victim was confirmed by the Medical Examiners Office in Columbia as Ricoberto Sacalxot Escobar, date of birth 5-13-84, of Guatemala. Updated information of victims in crash include number two.

Captain Dale A. Schmidt states, “This has been a difficult accident due to the number of fatalities, injuries and the lack of identification on any of the victims. It was through the cooperative efforts of all agencies and consulates that the identities of the victims were discovered.”
