EMPHASIS: Captain Billy E. Chadwick Retires July 1, 2010


Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the retirement of Captain Billy E. Chadwick, Troop G, Willow Springs, effective July 1, 2010. Captain Chadwick retires after 35 and a half years of dedicated service to the people of Missouri.

Captain Chadwick was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1975, as a member of the 44th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 1, Springfield. Chadwick was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 3, Bolivar, MO, in 1987. In 1989, he was promoted to sergeant and designated zone commander of Zone 3, Bolivar. He was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to Troop I in 1993. Chadwick was promoted to captain and designated troop commander of Troop G, Willow Springs, in 1995.

Chadwick was born in Marshall, AR. He graduated from high school in Witts Springs, AR, in 1970, and then earned a bachelor’s of science degree from School Of The Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO. Captain Chadwick and his wife, Diana S. (Dablemont), have two grown daughters: Rachel Peterson (and husband, Jason) lives in West Plains, and Sarah Kirby (and husband, Charlie) lives in Springfield. The Chadwicks also have three grandchildren: granddaughter Bradyn (Brady) Peterson, and grandsons Lawson Peterson and Dane Kirby.
