EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop E Hazardous Moving Violation Saturation

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, announces the results of a hazardous moving violation saturation patrol conducted in Troop E during the month of August in Butler County. During the operation, troopers were assigned to patrol highways with a past history of higher number of traffic crashes and hazardous moving violations.

Troopers made six arrests during the shift: two arrests for driving while intoxicated, two arrests for minor in possession, and two misdemeanors warrant arrests. Traffic citations issued by officers included one summons for speeding, one for careless and imprudent driving, 11 for seat belt violations, two for stop sign violations, two for no driver’s license, one for no insurance, and one hazardous moving violation. Troopers also issued 47 warnings for various other traffic violations during the operation.

Captain Ridens stated, “The impaired driver continues to be a major contributor to serious traffic crashes in southeast Missouri. DWI and hazardous driving saturations are a part of the Patrol’s effort to remove intoxicated and dangerous drivers from Missouri roadways and the troopers in the Troop E will continue to pursue this goal.”
