EMPHASIS: Arrest made in Cattle Theft Investigation







Captain Ron Replogle, Director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control announces the arrest of Ronnie E. Summers, age 32, of Polk County, Missouri. The members of the Governor’s Cattle Theft Task Force arrested Summers after a two-month investigation.



Summers was arrested on May 16, 2006 in Vernon County on Felony charges for Passing Bad Checks. Summers allegedly purchased cattle by writing checks on insufficient funds and closed accounts. The livestock were then quickly resold at area sale barns. Summers is being held on $26,000.00 bond at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is continuing in Pettis, Shannon, Texas, Polk, Dallas and Jasper Counties.



The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence of guilt in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
