EMPHASIS: Murder investigation leads to arrest; charges pending.





Captain R. K. Replogle, Commander, Division of Drug and Crime Control, Jefferson City announced that in a cooperative effort with the Barry County Sheriffs Department and Sheriff Mick Epperly a suspect has been arrested in the murder of a package store owner in Golden, Missouri. At approximately 10 p.m. last evening, January 24, the Barry County Sheriffs Department received a 911 call about a possible shooting at the Golden Package Store in Golden, Missouri. Deputies responded and discovered a body that was believed the victim of a homicide.



Sheriff Epperly requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, Troop D office. A suspect’s name was developed early in the investigation which lead investigators to a residence in Carroll County Arkansas. With assistance from the Carroll County Sheriffs Department an individual was arrested and taken into custody at 10 a.m. today with anticipation of formal charges being filed and later extradited to Missouri.



The names of the victim and suspect are being withheld at this time due to family notification and the filing of charges.
