EMPHASIS:
Troop B Enforcement Operations To Be Conducted During July Fourth Holiday
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces Troop B officers will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. during the 2016 July Fourth holiday weekend. Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) is a national traffic enforcement program aimed at making holiday weekends safer. During this enforcement operation, all available troopers will be assigned to patrol Missouri highways, not only aggressively enforcing traffic laws, but also to be available in the event motorists experience any type of emergency.
Additionally, Troop B officers will be conducting a holiday travel crash reduction effort on U.S. Highways 24, 36, and 63 on July 1, 2016, and July 4, 2016. During this enforcement program, additional troopers will be assigned to these heavily traveled roadways in an effort to step up traffic enforcement with a goal of reducing traffic crashes over the holiday weekend.
Troop B troopers will also be patrolling area lakes and rivers enforcing marine laws and assisting those utilizing Northeast Missouri waterways.
"We expect many motorists to be traveling throughout Missouri over this holiday period," stated Captain Wilt. "Our goal is very simple: We want everyone to arrive at their destination safely. Please obey all traffic laws, ensure that everyone in your vehicle is properly restrained, and never drink and drive."
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
