EMPHASIS: Patrol To Commission New Troopers

The Missouri State Highway Patrol will appoint 36 new troopers upon their graduation from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy. The graduation ceremony will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2007, on the south lawn of Missouri’s Capitol, Jefferson City. Governor Matt Blunt will address the class. The Honorable Gary Kamp, 32nd Circuit Court, will administer the Oath of Office to the new troopers. Rev. Durwin Kicker, First Baptist Church in Marshfield, MO, will give the invocation and benediction.
Thirteen of the new troopers are candidates for receiving associate’s degrees from Mineral Area College during the ceremony. Other awards to be presented include honors for physical fitness, firearms, academics, and the Superintendent’s Award for overall achievement.
The public and members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony.
