Area Citizens Participate In 14th Community Alliance Program
Captain Erik A. Gottman, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, MO, announces on April 11, 2022, 16 Troop B area residents completed a Community Alliance Program offered by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop B Headquarters. This was the 16th program of its type conducted at Troop B since 2001. The Community Alliance Program is a unique opportunity for citizens to gain insight and understanding of the training and many duties of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. It also offers an opportunity to meet and interact with several members and employees of the Patrol. During the program, the participants met at the Troop B Headquarters in Macon, MO, for six consecutive Monday evenings. Classroom and practical instruction covered various topics, including firearms, traffic stops, criminal investigations, polygraph examinations, and driving while intoxicated enforcement.
The program culminated with an awards ceremony, which was held at and sponsored by the Macon Comfort Inn. During the awards ceremony, participants received a plaque for their participation. Participants of the 2022 Troop B Community Alliance Program were: William Gibson, of Huntsville, MO; Deidre Ritter, of Macon, MO; Ron and Linda Peterson, of Macon; Jerry Boling, of Macon; James Willis, of Bevier, MO; Cameron Hampton, of Hannibal, MO; Cy Fields, of Paris, MO; Teresa Thrasher, of Macon; Christina Wilham, of Macon; Brent and Charlie Shafer, of Kirksville, MO; Denise McVay of Kirksville; Craig Bakke, of Bucklin, MO; and Andrew Boster, of Kirksville.
