EMPHASIS: 83rd Recruit Class Reports To Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy



Forty-seven people reported to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy on Monday, October 18, 2004, to begin the 27-week training course to become a trooper. The 83rd Recruit Class is scheduled to graduate on May 7, 2005. As of November 15, 39 recruits remain in the class.



The average age of the members of the 83rd Recruit Class is 26.13 years. Of the recruits, 10 have some college experience, two have earned associate’s degrees, seven have more than 60 hours of college credit, and 15 have bachelor’s degrees. Twelve of the recruits have worked in law enforcement and four have prior military experience.
