EMPHASIS: Sgt. Alan H. Walton Retires

Colonel James F. Keathley announces the retirement of Sergeant Alan H. Walton after 28 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Missouri. His retirement was effective August 1, 2008.

Sergeant Walton was appointed to the Patrol on November 13, 1979, as a weight inspector assigned to Troop D, Springfield, MO. He entered the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in 1980 as a member of the 52nd Recruit Class. After graduating from the Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop C, Jefferson County. In 1987, he transferred to the Governor’s Security Division at General Headquarters, Jefferson City. He was promoted to corporal in 1991 and to sergeant in 1997, and remained with the Governor’s Security Division. In 2005, he transferred to the Research and Development Division at General Headquarters. Walton’s final assignment was a six-month internship with 87th Recruit Class at the Law Enforcement Academy.

Walton was born in Ironton, MO. He graduated from Potosi R-3 High School. He earned an associate’s of science degree in criminal justice from Missouri Western State College, in St. Joseph, MO, and a bachelor’s of science degree in business from Tarkio College. Sgt. Walton has one daughter, Ebony. He is married to Lt. Kathy A. Frazier, Q/TND.
