EMPHASIS: Patrol Accepting Applications

Could you make a difference? The Missouri State Highway Patrol is a professional law enforcement agency seeking ladies and gentlemen who want to do just that. If you’re looking for a challenging career with good benefits, the Patrol may have the answer. This highly respected law enforcement agency is now hiring for the position of trooper. Applications will be accepted until March 11, 2005. The 85th Recruit Class is tentatively scheduled to begin January 9, 2006. Special emphasis is being placed on recruiting qualified women and minorities who desire a career in law enforcement.

The Highway Patrol has a strong, honorable history of service and protection in this state. We are looking for qualified candidates to continue this tradition. “Troopers make a difference every day serving and protecting the citizens of Missouri,” said Colonel Roger D. Stottlemyre, superintendent of the Patrol. “If you feel called to serve your state, and are looking for a challenging and exciting career, please contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol.”

The selection process is a multiphase testing procedure including examinations in reading comprehension, writing skills, and police attitudinal factors. Additional testing includes a fitness for duty assessment, polygraph examination, comprehensive background investigation and review, and an oral interview. After a conditional offer of employment, the applicant must complete a medical examination (to include vision and hearing), psychological examination, and drug screening test.

Interested parties with inquiries concerning the selection process may contact a Patrol recruiter toll free at 1-800-796-7000.
